Proposed pricing for the first release

Compared with HostedScan

The closest hosted alternative for the same audience is HostedScan. For five websites, its Basic plan lists at $39 per month, or $468 per year billed annually; Premium is $109 and Professional $189 per month. ScanBastion Solo covers five targets for $19 per month, less than half the price, and Agency covers fifteen targets for less than HostedScan charges for five.

The difference in price reflects a difference in scope, and it is fair to say what you do not get. HostedScan Basic includes unlimited scans, scheduled scans, network and port scanning with Nmap and OpenVAS, and an OpenAPI scanner; its higher tiers add authenticated scanning, internal network scanning, an API and Nessus. ScanBastion's first release is a website scanner: headers, TLS, passive OWASP ZAP and curated Nuclei, with a monthly scan allowance and no scheduling, authenticated or network scanning. If you need those, HostedScan is the right tool. If you need to assess client websites, verify authorisation properly and hand over a report a client can read, ScanBastion is built for exactly that at a price a small agency can absorb per client.

HostedScan prices from hostedscan.com/pricing as of 22 October 2026. HostedScan is a trademark of its owner and is not affiliated with ScanBastion.

How the model works

A target is one verified hostname. Each plan includes a number of targets and a monthly allowance of scans that you can spend across them, with either profile. Unused scans do not roll over. If you have more sites than your plan covers, add targets in packs of five rather than moving up a tier.

We price per target rather than per scan credit because agencies budget per site, not per scan, and should be able to rescan after a fix without thinking about cost. We do not charge per seat on Solo because a solo consultant and a three-person studio should not pay differently for the same sites.

What every plan includes

  • Domain verification and the Responsible Scanning Policy on every target, including Starter.
  • The same rate limits, timeouts and stop controls. Paying more buys more targets and more scans, never more aggressive scanning.
  • Findings with severity, confidence and verification shown separately, and the same report format.
  • Scan history and verification decisions that carry forward between scans.

Why there is a free tier

Starter exists so that you can verify a domain, run a Quick scan and read a real report before paying. It is limited to the passive profile and one target. Because every target must pass DNS verification, Starter cannot be used to scan sites you do not control, which is the usual reason scanners avoid a free tier.

What is final and what is not

  • Final: pricing per verified target with included scans; no per-seat charge on Solo; the same safety controls on every plan; monthly and annual billing with cancellation at any time.
  • Proposed: the prices and allowances in the table above.
  • Not yet decided: whether white-label reports ship in the first release and on which plans; tax and invoicing details for customers outside the United States.

Final prices will be announced to the early-access list before launch, and early-access members will have the first opportunity to subscribe at them.
